Massage Therapy

Mention massage and you may immediately think of a luxurious spa treatment, complete with aromatherapy and relaxing music. While massage is indeed relaxing, it has many other benefits! Massage alleviates pain, improves range of motion, reduces stress, boosts the immune system, and much more.

Massage is designed to treat musculoskeletal derived conditions.  A variety of techniques is used to manipulate soft tissue structures and mobilize joints.  The overall effect being to restore proper muscle tone and joint motion.  In many cases, massage is used in conjunction with our physical therapy services to aid in a quicker recovery.

If you experience any of these symptoms, massage therapy could be right for you:

  • Headaches
  • Backaches
  • Neck pain/stiffness
  • Sore muscles
  • Sciatica
  • Stress
  • Insomnia
  • Cold hands/feet

Greer McMurray and Stephanie Omeara are our massage therapists who will take good care of you.  They use various techniques to help alleviate muscle tension and restore function.

Therapeutic/Clinical massage – various techniques used to target and relieve injured muscles and joints, restoring tone and range of motion.  This is typically accompanied with your physical therapy program.

Swedish massage – a refreshing massage that relaxes and soothes muscles as well as easing aches and pains.

Sports massage – a more vigorous massage to help warm up the muscle to maximize performance.

Perinatal massage – a nurturing massage to relieve discomfort, fatigue, and to enhance sleep.

If a doctor hasn’t prescribed massage therapy for the treatment of your condition, you’ll meet with one of our doctors first, who will recommend the best treatment for you.
