Physical Therapy

Whether you sustained an injury as a result of a car crash, hurt your back in a workplace-related accident or injured yourself while participating in your favorite sport, you could benefit from physical therapy.

The objective of physical therapy is preserving, enhancing or restoring movement and physical function that’s been impaired by injury, disease or disability.

Providing Customized Plans

Most of our patients have physical therapy in conjunction with other modalities. For example, many patients will do a physical therapy plan that Dr. Clark designs for them in conjunction with adjustments in specific areas. “We want to address whatever condition a patient has from all angles,” says Dr. Clark.

We do a lot of core rehab for the following:

  • Lower back pain
  • Neck pain
  • Patellar tracking
  • Patellar tendonitis

  • Rotator cuff tendonitis
  • Shoulder impingement
  • Text neck or forward head posture

Evaluation

Your first visit with our physical therapist will consist of a thorough evaluation, in which he will talk with you about your symptoms, evaluate your muscle strength and flexibility and create a treatment plan to help relieve your pain, increase strength and flexibility, improve balance and overall endurance.

Sometimes a patient will come in with a script for physical therapy from another doctor. Our physical therapist can get them started that day after doing an initial evaluation.

Rehab exercises

Our focus is on your whole well-being. By combining manual medicine with rehab exercises, we’re able to help you feel better quicker. Physical therapy is especially effective for shoulder, knee and sports injuries.

You will have your PT in the office that features a large rehab floor. Plans are designed by Dr. Clark but his entire staff is available to teach you how to correctly perform the exercises—using proper form. We can also give you exercises to do at home to help maintain the progress you get at the clinic.

How much will physical therapy cost?

The cost of your care depends on the nature of your injury, the results of our initial assessment and what you want to achieve. We will provide you an estimate of the cost and length of treatment after your initial evaluation.
Will my physical therapy be covered by insurance?

Yes, in most cases. Many insurance plans cover physical therapy. Please check with your insurance company or call our clinic to determine if physical therapy is covered by your insurance.
How long will it take for me to get better?

How quickly you recover is determined by a variety of factors unique to you. These include the extent of damaged tissue, how long you have had the injury, your dietary habits, your emotional state, the health of your immune and endocrine systems, your genetic predisposition and other factors.
How many times will I need to come in?

Following your evaluation, you and your therapist will determine the number of times you will need to be seen. The extent and severity of your injury will be a primary consideration for determining the number of sessions you will need. On average, we see clients three times a week for 4-6 weeks.

Coming in for physical therapy to get better is like going to the gym to get fit. You need to tell your body what to do frequently at the start to make the most progress and the type of changes we want to see. If you just went to the gym once a week, you probably won’t get very fit.
